What Pulsar retrieves from GSC

Pulsar synchronises daily the full Search Console data: impressions, clicks, average position, CTR, top queries, top pages, performance by country, device and appearance type (web, image, video, news).

OAuth permissions used: read-only on siteVerification.read and webmasters.read. No modification, no writes on GSC.

The 4 steps to connect GSC

1
1. Prepare the Pulsar project

Create the Pulsar project (Settings > Projects > New project), enter the name and the exact URL (with or without www depending on your GSC verification).

2
2. Connect via OAuth

Settings > Connected sources > Google Search Console > "Connect a Google account". You are redirected to Google to confirm the read-only permissions.

3
3. Select the property

Pulsar lists all GSC properties your Google admin account has access to. Select the one matching this project.

4
4. First synchronisation

Pulsar automatically retrieves 16 months of history. Allow 2-5 minutes for the first sync. The data appears in the dashboard.

Common errors and solutions

  • No property foundThe connected Google account is not an admin on this property. Check on search.google.com/search-console that the account has "Owner" or "User (full admin)" rights.
  • URL mismatchThe Pulsar project URL must exactly match the GSC property (with/without www, http/https). Pulsar performs fuzzy matching but prefers an exact match.
  • OAuth token expired after 6 monthsGoogle revokes inactive OAuth tokens after 6 months. Reconnect from Settings > Sources > GSC > "Reconnect".

Frequently asked questions

How many GSC properties can I connect?
One per project. Pulsar Solo: 1 project = 1 GSC. Pulsar Studio: 5 projects = 5 GSC. Pro: 15. Scale: 40. Network: 100.
My site does not have GSC yet, what to do?
Create the property on search.google.com/search-console, validate it (via DNS or meta tag), wait 24-48h for Google to collect the first data, then connect to Pulsar.
Does Pulsar track keywords independently of GSC?
Yes, Pulsar Ranking queries Google and Bing SERPs for the keywords you configure, on top of GSC data. It is complementary: GSC = what users did, Pulsar Ranking = where you rank.
Is there a GSC API request limit?
Yes: 1200 requests/minute per account. Pulsar respects that with smart caching. Should never block in normal usage.
